A quote laid out by Barcelona star Dani Olmo has turned heads across the Spanish football landscape on Friday.
This comes after the attacking midfielder revealed his take that, to date, Barca have enjoyed a more successful transfer window than arch rivals Real Madrid.
Real Madrid have of course had a thoroughly productive summer to date when it comes to reinforcements.
After snatching up first-choice managerial target Xabi Alonso, Los Blancos have since brought in all of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen, Franco Mastantuono and Álvaro Carreras, too.
Shifting focus towards the other side of the Clásico divide, though, and Barcelona have been altogether more conservative.
Owing chiefly to the club’s financial constraints, the Blaugrana have thus far shelled out a fee of note on only one player, in Joan García.
Beyond as much, youngster Roony Bardghji was brought in for a minimal sum, whilst Marcus Rashford has joined on loan for the season.
As alluded to above, though, one individual who is nevertheless of the opinion that Barca have won the Clásico transfer battle this summer is Dani Olmo.
Speaking during an interview with COPE on Friday, midfielder Olmo explained:
“We have made better signings than Real Madrid. We have also strengthened ourselves.”
