Barcelona star assures ‘I haven’t reached my prime’

A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has this week assured the club’s supporters that he is yet to reach the peak of his powers.

The player in question? Fermín López.

Youngster Fermín has of course taken his place front and centre in the headlines across Spain over recent days.

This comes after the 22-year-old conjured up a Man of the Match performance.

En route to Barcelona putting six past Valencia in La Liga, Fermín notched a fine brace, amid what was a brilliant all-round performance.

As much saw the Spanish international continue to add to his reputation as one of Europe’s standout emerging midfield talents.

As alluded to above, though, if his latest comments are anything to go by, then Fermín is evidently of the opinion that he is only scratching the surface when it comes to his potential as a player.

During a fan Q&A for The Residency (as cited by Diario Sport) this week, the Barcelona standout was asked:

”Do you consider yourself to be at your best?”

And Fermín went on to respond with:

”I still have to get to my prime.”
