Barcelona star agrees move to La Liga rivals

Barcelona star Marc-André ter Stegen Barcelona star has agreed on the terms of a move to Catalan rivals Girona.

The two clubs, in turn, have begun work towards finding a loan agreement for the 2nd half of the term.

Shot-stopper Ter Stegen has of course long been expected to depart Barcelona this month.

As much comes with the German, following the summer arrival of Joan García, having slipped to 3rd-choice in the pecking order between the posts in Hansi Flick’s squad.

Eager to secure for himself a place in his country’s squad for the 2026 World Cup, Ter Stegen has in turn been left with little choice but to take into consideration a temporary move away from the Camp Nou.

And as alluded to above, late this week, precisely as much has inched considerably closer.

As per a report from market insider Fabrizio Romano, citing the reliable Nil Sola:

‘Girona are closing in on deal to sign Marc André ter Stegen on loan deal! Total agreement with the German goalkeeper who said yes to Girona.’
