Barcelona star Ronald Araújo has revealed that he is more than looking forward to the challenge posed by a member of the attacking ranks at Real Madrid this weekend.
The player in question? Vinícius Jr.
Wide-man Vinícius is for his part of course expected to feature from the off this weekend, when Real Madrid play host to arch rivals Barcelona in a top-of-the-table La Liga showdown.
The Brazilian has for his part been at the heart of a number of controversial moments involving the Blaugrana across his Clásico career to date.
As a result of as much, Vinícius has long been considered public enemy no.1 in the eyes of many a Barca supporter.
As alluded to above, though, one member of Hansi Flick’s squad who has managed to put rivalries to one side to appreciate the attacker’s individual brilliance is Ronald Araújo.
Speaking during an interview with Movistar (as cited by Diario Sport) late this week, stopper Araújo was drawn on the prospect of facing off against his fellow South American on Sunday.
And the Uruguayan went on to explain:
“He always makes you get the best out of yourself, what I see is what he does on the field, he is spectacular. Great players do that. I personally love players like Vinicius and I love to face them, facers, daring. I don’t give a ball to the outside.”
