Barcelona star Karim Adeyemi has revealed that the key factor in convincing him of the merits of a move to Catalunya’s capital was the presence of fellow countryman Hansi Flick.
Attacker Adeyemi of course swapped the Bundesliga for La Liga this past summer, departing Borussia Dortmund for the bright lights of the Spotify Camp Nou.
The 24-year-old is yet to carve out a consistent starting berth for himself, but has nevertheless produced solid numbers to date, with six direct goal contributions to his name.
Speaking during an interview with Barca’s official media channel (as cited by Mundo Deportivo) this week, Adeyemi, in turn, was drawn on his experience in Blaugrana colours to date.
And during the discussion, the versatile frontman went on to open up on the ‘special connection’ between he and manager Hansi Flick, explaining:
“Hansi Flick is the reason I’m here and I’m very grateful to him. I speak to him honestly and that’s very important. We have a special connection, as he does with the whole team.”
