The board at La Liga champions Barcelona have all but ruled out a move for Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries this summer.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Tuesday provided an insight into the situation.
The name of wing-back Dumfries has of course emerged as a prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over recent weeks.
This comes after widespread reports were forthcoming, suggesting that Deco and co. were giving real consideration to a move for the Dutchman’s signing.
Dumfries’ Inter Milan release clause was slashed to just €25 million this month, making him something of a market opportunity.
As alluded to above, however, despite Hansi Flick being a keen admirer of the 29-year-old, Barcelona launching a move for Dumfries, as things stand, looks highly unlikely.
As per a report from Sport:
‘Without a sale, it is practically impossible to undertake an operation that both the sporting management and Hansi Flick himself saw as very interesting, although the timing has not been good.’
