La Liga giants Barcelona have identified a member of the midfield ranks at neighbours Espanyol as a potential summer signing.
That’s according to Barca insider Toni Juanmartí of Diario Sport, who points towards Gregorio Gracia Sánchez (Gori) as the player in question.
Gori, for his part, is a 22-year-old midfielder, who spent this past season plying his trade on the books of Espanyol B.
After recovering from two serious knee injuries, the Spaniard quickly went about providing a reminder of his unquestionable talents in the middle of the park.
And such endeavours, as alluded to above, appear to have piqued the attentions of one of Spanish football’s biggest clubs.
As per Sport, Barcelona have placed the signing of Gori ‘high on their agenda’ with a view to next season.
The player’s current Espanyol terms are due to expire in the summer, with the efforts of the brass at the Stage Front Stadium to find an agreement on an extension having come up short.
Their Catalan rivals, as a result, are ready to swoop, eager to incorporate Gori into the Barca Atlètic setup with a view to a potential first-team berth down the line.
