Hansi Flick’s Barcelona have on Wednesday secured for themselves a piece of club history.
Unfortunately for the Blaugrana’s current crop of stars, however, as much comes for altogether less than positive reasons…
Barcelona are of course currently locked in action, on the continent.
With sights on a bounce-back result following a weekend defeat at the hands of Real Sociedad, the Spanish champions have made the trip to Czechia, for a Champions League meeting with Sparta Praha.
As things stand, however, Flick’s troops find themselves headed towards only a share of the spoils.
As much comes after they conceded not once, but twice across the opening 45 minutes, either side of a brace on the part of Fermín López.
And in the process, as alluded to above, Barca made some club history.
As revealed by statisticians Opta on Wednesday evening:
‘Barcelona have conceded goals in 10 consecutive matches for the first time in the European Cup/UEFA Champions League.’
