Barcelona set a remarkable all-time club record in PSG defeat

Hansi Flick’s Barcelona secured for themselves a piece of club history, en route to being put to the sword by Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.

Barcelona of course marked their return to action a short time ago.

Turning focus back towards matters on the continent, the Blaugrana welcomed tournament holders PSG to Catalunya’s capital for a Champions League clash.

When all was said and done on an evening to forget for the hosts, they found themselves condemned to the wrong side of a 2-1 scoreline.

This came after Ferran Torres’ opener was cancelled out by Senny Mayulu late in the first-half, before Gonçalo Ramos completed the turnaround in the game’s dying moments.

As alluded to above, though, en route to a rare defeat on Wednesday, Hansi Flick’s Barca nevertheless made history.

As revealed by statisticians Opta:

‘Barcelona have scored in each of their last 45 matches in all competitions (127 goals), achieving the best scoring streak in their history, surpassing the 44 matches between November 1942 and February 1944.’
