Barcelona have on Saturday evening taken to social media, to send a collective message of support to La Liga’s three relegated clubs.
This comes after the last, earlier today, was confirmed.
With Las Palmas and Real Valladolid already condemned to the 2nd tier of Spanish football, Espanyol and Leganés battled it out for survival on the final day.
When all was said and done, it was the former who secured their top-flight status for another year, courtesy of a 2-0 victory over Las Palmas.
This means that Leganés are facing up to another season back in the Segunda.
News of as much has since been met by a wave of messages of support from across the Spanish football landscape.
And as alluded to above, late on Saturday evening, Barcelona have added their name to this list of well wishers. In a post across the club’s social media platforms, the Blaugrana wrote:
‘Sending lots of support to Leganés, Las Palmas, and Valladolid. We hope to see you back in La Liga soon.’
