La Liga champions Barcelona have this week closed an agreement for a fresh addition to the club’s reserve team ranks.
This comes amid confirmation of the Blaugrana finally tying up a deal for Hamza Abdelkarim.
Youngster Abdelkarim has of course taken his place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital for several weeks now.
As much comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the Barcelona brass had opened talks to bring the 18-year-old to the Camp Nou.
The parties since encountered a number of roadblocks in negotiations towards a deal.
But as alluded to above, on Friday, such problems appear to have been overcome once and for all.
As per a report from market insider Fabrizio Romano:
‘Hamza Abdelkarim to Barcelona, here we go! Deal agreed with Al Ahly for 18 year old Egyptian talent.’
Abdelkarim will make the move to Spain on an initial loan deal, featuring an option to buy in the summer. The frontman is set to link up with Barca Atlètic.
