La Liga champions Barcelona have made the call not to move ahead with a move for Sport Recife youngster Zé Lucas.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Wednesday provided an update on the situation.
The name of midfielder Zé Lucas has of course been a prominent one in the transfer chatter surrounding Barcelona over recent days.
As much comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that a delegation from the aforementioned Sport Recife had made the trip to Catalunya, to offer up their crown jewel’s services to Deco and co.
Amid a desperate search for funds on the transfer market, Recife are ready to cash in on Zé Lucas – one of the most highly-regarded young talents in Brazil – this summer.
If the latest word stemming from Spain is anything to go by, however, then Barcelona will not be the 17-year-old’s landing spot.
As per a report from Sport:
‘The footballer is not among Barça’s priorities. He is not well evaluated by the scouting department. He costs almost 15 million euros and occupies a position with overbooking in the first team, in addition to those who have been pushing from La Masia.’
