La Liga giants Barcelona have sent a formal complaint to UEFA, regarding banners displayed by sections of the home fans in attendance at the club’s meeting with Paris Saint-Germain.
Hansi Flick’s Barca of course made the trip to France’s capital a short time ago, for the headline fixture of the gameweek in the Champions League.
The Blaugrana were met with a predictably ruthless reception inside the Parc des Princes, targeted with chants and jeers prior to kick-off and throughout the 90 minutes.
It was a pair of banners, though, which those back in Catalunya’s capital felt crossed the line when it comes to sportsmanship.
The first, displayed ahead of proceedings getting underway, showcased an individual cutting through the Barcelona badge with a chainsaw, accompanied by the caption:
‘Massacre à la parisienne’ (Parisian-style massacre).
The other was then seen being raised at different points during the clash, reading simply ‘Puta Barca’.
As per a report from Catalan outlet ESport3, Barcelona have in turn sent a report the way of UEFA, highlighting the banners and calling for retrospective action.
