La Liga champions Barcelona have on Tuesday released a statement, regarding their upcoming meeting with Getafe.
This comes amid confirmation that the fixture will not be played at the Spotify Camp Nou.
Barcelona had of course been hopeful of marking their return to the club’s beloved home ground this weekend.
After their plans to take on Valencia at the newly-renovated Camp Nou last weekend fell through, sights were shifted to this coming Sunday.
As alluded to above, however, the Blaugrana faithful have today been dealt a fresh blow when it comes to their side’s stadium plans.
As per a statement across Barca’s website and social media platforms:
‘Barcelona announces that the match corresponding to matchday 5 of LaLiga, which has to take place on Sunday, September 21, at 21:00, against Getafe, will not be able to take place at the Spotify Camp Nou.The Club continues to work intensively to obtain the necessary administrative permits for the opening of the Spotify Camp Nou in the coming days. For this reason, the match will finally be held at the Johan Cruyff Stadium.’
