Barcelona reignite interest in Zé Lucas deal

La Liga giants Barcelona remain keen on a potential deal for Brazil and Sport Recife youngster Zé Lucas.

This comes amid the midfielder’s impressive start at the U17 World Cup.

Zé Lucas is captaining his native Brazil at the tournament, with his exploits on and off the ball alike having already piqued the attentions of a whole host of top European clubs.

Amongst those keen are the aforementioned Barcelona, amid a fresh round of links between club and player.

Zé Lucas was tipped for a move to Catalunya’s capital this past summer, with Blaugrana sporting director Deco having gone as far as to hold talks with the player’s entourage.

In the end, no agreement was found, but the talented starlet is now back in the sights of those in the Camp Nou boardroom.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, citing Globoesporte, Barca are keeping a close eye on Zé Lucas’ performances at the U17 World Cup.

A fresh assault on the signature of the deep-lying midielder could in turn be kickstarted as soon as January.
