Spanish football’s two leading clubs are ready to go to war over the signing of a breakout Eredivisie talent.
That’s according to Diario AS, who highlight Rayane Bounida as the player in question.
Bounida, for his part, is currently plying his trade on the books of Dutch giants Ajax.
The 19-year-old chiefly lines out in an attacking midfield role, but is versatile enough to drop into a more orthodox role in the middle of the park, or even out wide.
Bounida has long been hailed for his technical abilities and creative nous, giving rise to 12 appearances for Ajax at senior level this season.
And along the way, the Belgian youth international is understood to have piqued the attentions of some of European football’s leading clubs.
As per a report from AS, both Barcelona and Real Madrid are giving serious consideration to summer offers for Bounida:
‘Sources close to the situation tell AS that both Spanish giants have intensified their internal monitoring, with detailed reports already prepared on the 19-year-old.’
La Liga’s top two consider Bounida a future star in the making, ready to make the jump to a grander stage in Spain.
