Barcelona & Real Madrid discover referee for La Liga title showdown

The respective boards at La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid have on Tuesday been made aware of the refereeing appointment for their upcoming showdown.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Alejandro Hernández Hernández as the official set to oversee proceedings in Catalunya.

The final Clásico of the campaign is of course set to play out this coming weekend.

The fixture marks an absolutely crucial one when it comes to the La Liga title battle, as a victory for Barcelona would see Hansi Flick’s troops all but crowned champions, whilst a Real Madrid triumph would blow the race wide open once more, with three gameweeks to play.

Those on both sides of the Clásico divide will therefore no doubt be interested to hear of the team of officials for the clash being decided upon.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘The chosen one, as confirmed by MD, will be the international referee from the Canary Islands, Alejandro Hernández Hernández. Munuera Montero and Martínez Munuera will be in charge of the VAR.’
