Barcelona provide Lamine Yamal status update for Getafe clash

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided an update on the status of star winger Lamine Yamal, for his side’s upcoming meeting with Getafe.

Wide-man Lamine was for his part of course forced to sit out last weekend, as Barcelona made short work of Valencia in a La Liga clash.

This came owing to a groin injury suffered whilst on international duty with Spain.

The problem has since proven enough to rule Lamine out of the Blaugrana’s next fixture, in the Champions League against Newcastle United, too.

Speaking to the media this week, the possibility of the prodigious young attacker marking his comeback against Getafe this weekend was therefore put to Hansi Flick.

Barca’s headmaster, however, went on to confirm that as things stand, as much looks unlikely:

“Lamine Yamal? He’s unlikely to play this weekend as well. I don’t think we should put pressure on him. We have a fantastic medical staff. We’ll see how he progresses. If he comes back, it’s to be at one hundred percent.”
