La Liga leaders Barcelona have provided an explanation for the surprise absence of Lamine Yamal from the club’s squad to face Real Sociedad.
Barca are of course primed to return to action in short order.
In the club’s final fixture ahead of the international break, the Blaugrana have made the trip to Anoeta, with sights on an 8th successive victory across all competitions.
Such endeavours, however, will come without the contributions of the aforementioned Lamine Yamal.
Upon Hansi Flick’s matchday squad for tonight being unveiled online, wide-man Lamine was an altogether notable absentee:
Amid widespread concern on the part of the club’s supporters, the Catalans, in turn, have since provided an explanation for as much.
As per a statement across Barca’s website and social media platforms:
‘First team player Lamine Yamal sustained a severe contusion in last Wednesday’s game against Red Star Belgrade. Over the past few days, he has undergone treatment, but the discomfort has yet to subside. His recovery will determine his availability.’
