Barcelona prodigy Lamine given standing ovation at Santiago Bernabéu

The supporters in attendance at Spain’s friendly meeting with Brazil on Tuesday made clear their appreciation for Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal.

As much comes after the winger, still just 16 years of age, showcased his frankly staggering talents once more.

Afforded a starting berth by Spain boss Luis de la Fuente, Lamine lit up his country’s right flank, courtesy of a combination of sublime touch, explosive pace, brilliant trickery and, crucially, end product.

He laid on the assist for La Roja’s 2nd of the night, en route to an eventual 3-3 draw between the two heavyweights of international football.

And, as alluded to above, upon his number flashing across the linesman’s board, signalling the end of Lamine’s contributions for the night, the crowd inside the Santiago Bernabéu came together, to lavish the attacker in collective praise.

Many no doubt of a Real Madrid persuasion put rivalries to one side, to play their part in a rousing standing ovation, for a player who looks set to define a generation of Spanish football.
