Two players to have managed prominent roles with La Liga giants Barcelona this season have today been rewarded by way of international call-ups for Euro 2024.
The pair in question? The two Joãos – Félix and Cancelo.
Both frontman Félix and defender Cancelo, of course, have spent the season to date lining out for Barcelona on loan.
The latter played a particularly pivotal role in Xavi’s XI, featuring from the off on 37 occasions across all competitions.
Fellow countryman Félix was not quite as frequent a fixture in Barcelona’s starting line-up, but nevertheless played his part, en route to 10 goals and six assists in 43 appearances.
And, as alluded to above, such endeavours on the part of the pair have proven enough to secure their respective places at the upcoming European Championships.
As much was announced on Tuesday afternoon, upon the unveiling of Portugal’s squad for the summer showpiece.
Félix and Cancelo join the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Bernardo Silva and Bruno Fernandes in what is a talent-packed party bound for Germany under the watch of Roberto Martínez:
