Two members of Hansi Flick’s Barcelona squad were absent from group training with the rest of the club’s first-team ranks on Wednesday.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who highlight Marcus Rashford and Pau Cubarsí as the pair in question.
Both frontman Rashford and defender Cubarsí of course featured from the off over the weekend, as Barcelona were condemned to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Real Madrid.
The pair, in turn, worked out on Monday at the Ciutat Esportiva, before taking advantage of a day of rest on Tuesday.
The rest of Barcelona’s fit players linked back up for training early this morning, but neither Rashford nor Cubarsí were amongst the contingent present.
As much has been confirmed by Mundo Deportivo, who add that this comes with the direct permission of Hansi Flick and the club.
Rashford is for his part back in Manchester for the day, as confirmed through a series of posts on the Englishman’s social media accounts.
The reasoning behind Cubarsí’s absence, on the other hand, remains unclear.
