La Liga giants Barcelona currently have only four fit senior defenders to choose from. This comes after the club were dealt their latest setback on the personnel front on Sunday.
Barcelona were of course back in action yesterday evening, welcoming arch rivals Real Madrid to the Spotify Camp Nou for a Clásico showdown.
The Blaugrana headed into proceedings sans the talents of several important defensive stars, with all of Andreas Christensen, Jules Koundé and Eric García absent through injury.
The woes of Hansi Flick and his staff were then compounded upon Xavi Espart limping out of proceedings with an ankle problem, which is expected to keep him on the sidelines for around seven weeks.
After allowing Ronald Araújo to depart over the summer, Barcelona, as a result, have been left with just four fit senior defenders, in the form of João Cancelo, Pau Cubarsí, Gerard Martín, and Alejandro Balde.
