Barcelona offered chance to sign Donny van de Beek from Manchester United

Manchester United outcast Donny van de Beek has emerged as a January transfer option for Barcelona.

That’s according to Sport, who have today provided an update on the future of the once so highly-regarded Dutch international.

Van de Beek has endured a nightmare campaign to date, to the tune of a paltry 21 minutes across all competitions.

Speaking recently, the former Ajax man therefore hinted that he will seek out a January exit from Old Trafford, in a bid to secure more regular playing time.

And one destination Van de Beek would be particularly keen to land, it would appear, is the aforementioned Barcelona.

Sport reveal that the midfielder has offered his services to the Blaugrana ahead of the January transfer window, after they previously expressed an interest in his services prior to Manchester United striking a deal with Ajax.

It is currently unclear whether or not Xavi and co. would be interested in bringing in Van de Beek, though it is noted that he could provide valuable depth in the absence of the sidelined Gavi.

Any potential deal would likely come in the form of a short-term loan, through the summer of 2024.

Italian heavyweights Juventus, meanwhile, are also understood to be in the running for the midfielder ahead of the winter window.
