La Liga giants Barcelona have this weekend received some recognition, courtesy of one of the game’s most high-profile managers.
The tactician in question? Simone Inzaghi.
Fresh off bringing a close to his stint on the bench of Italian heavyweights Inter Milan, Inzaghi is currently plying his managerial trade with Saudi outfit Al-Hilal.
His first order of business was to lead his new club into the newly-formatted FIFA Club World Cup, a campaign which was kicked into gear in positive fashion in midweek, courtesy of a 1-1 draw with Real Madrid.
Inzaghi, next, faces a 2nd group stage outing on Monday, against RB Salzburg.
And speaking to the media in his pre-match press conference earlier today, the Italian reserved some special praise for the aforementioned Barcelona.
Specifically, after sending the Blaugrana packing from the Champions League this past season, Inzaghi explained:
“The Club World Cup has been great so far. The world’s elite clubs are here. We’re only missing Barcelona.”
