La Liga giants Barcelona have made a definitive call on the future of transfer-linked midfield star Fermín López.
That’s according to RAC1, who have confirmed that the 22-year-old will be going nowhere ahead of the transfer deadline.
Fermín’s name has of course dominated the media chatter surrounding Barcelona for the last week.
This comes after word was forthcoming that Premier League outfit Chelsea had earmarked the Spanish international as a leading late-window transfer target.
The Blues even went as far as to table an opening €40 million bid for Fermín’s signature.
With the summer deadline now fast approaching, however, Barcelona have not yet opened to the prospect of a sale.
And if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then as much comes with any such move, in fact, having already been completely ruled out.
As per a report from RAC1:
‘Barça rules out Fermín leaving before the market closes tonight and considers the case closed. Neither has the midfielder asked to leave nor has Chelsea made any formal offer in line with his value at any time.’
