The board at La Liga champions Barcelona recently touched base with the representatives of Tottenham Hotspur star Pedro Porro. This came with a view to gathering information on the likely requirements to strike a deal for the full-back.
Barca, as things stand, are not actively on the hunt for reinforcements at right-back. Taking into account all of Eric García, Jules Koundé, youngster Xavi Espart and the likely returning João Cancelo, Hansi Flick considers the position well stocked.
This situation, however, could well change over the weeks ahead…
Koundé’s future in Catalunya’s capital is considered far from certain, amid interest in the Frenchman’s services on the part of English champions and Champions League finalists Arsenal.
Deco and his team of directors are therefore scouring the market for potential late-window replacements. And as alluded to above, one name to have come to the fore amid this search is that of Pedro Porro.
As per a report from Diario Sport, citing Jijantes:
‘The Blaugrana club contacted Pedro Porro’s entourage in recent days to find out the situation of the Tottenham full-back and the conditions that could occur in a hypothetical operation.’
Porro just this summer formed a brilliant right-wing partnership with Barca standout Lamine Yamal in Spain’s triumphant World Cup run, a development which evidently hasn’t gone unnoticed behind the scenes at the Spotify Camp Nou.
