Barcelona-linked defender will be available for free next summer

La Liga giants Barcelona could be afforded the opportunity to reinforce the club’s full-back ranks at zero cost in the summer of 2027.

This comes amid confirmation that Fiorentina star Dodô has made the definitive call to run down his contract terms, ahead of a free agent departure.

Speaking to the media this week, Viola sporting director Fabio Paratici announced:

“It’s very clear and always has been. At the end of the season, he will have the legitimate ambition of looking for another club. We were willing to listen if a good offer came, but we didn’t receive it, and that generated some drawbacks in their approach to the new season.”

This news has already sparked interest at a number of high-profile clubs, with Serie A giants Juventus and AC Milan both in the bidding for the versatile right-back.

And also keeping a close eye on the situation, according to Diario Sport, are those in a position of power at La Liga champions Barcelona. Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements on the flanks, the Blaugrana are long-term admirers of Dodô’s talents.
