A former member of the attacking ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona is set to hand over the next Ballon d’Or.
That’s according to COPE, who point towards Ronaldinho as the player in question.
The latest Ballon d’Or ceremony is of course set to take place early this coming week.
In a lavish gala at the Théâtre du Châtelet in France’s capital of Paris, the biggest names from across the world of football will convene to learn the identity of the latest ‘Golden Ball’ winner.
A quartet of Barcelona stars are in the running for the accolade, namely Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Pedri, and Robert Lewandowski.
The former pair, meanwhile, are considered as being amongst the frontrunners.
And as allued to above, in the case of either ultimately emerging triumphant, they will be presented with the prestigious trophy by a former winner, and Blaugrana legend.
As per a report from COPE:
‘Ronaldinho will be the one to present the Ballon d’Or award at the ceremony next Monday.’
