A former member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona will imminently announce his plans to hang up his boots.
That’s according to COPE, who point towards Sergio Busquets as the player in question.
Engine room icon Busquets is for his part of course currently plying his club trade in the USA, with MLS outfit Inter Miami.
In the early hours of Sunday, the Spaniard laid on his latest assist, for Lionel Messi’s 2nd of the night in a 3-2 victory over DC United.
As alluded to above, though, despite his ongoing excellence at the base of Inter Miami’s engine room, Busquets will soon make public his intention to retire.
As per a report from COPE, now 37 years of age:
‘Busquets is going to confirm retirement. These months until November will be his last active ones.’
It is also noted that ‘Messi will continue and renew with Inter Miami’.
