Barcelona icon and Inter Miami star Lionel Messi secured for himself a fresh piece of history in the early hours of Sunday morning.
This came by way of his creative exploits in Inter’s MLS playoff showdown with Nashville.
The Argentine was responsible for laying on his side’s 4th of the clash late on, courtesy of a defence-splitting right-footed pass for Tadeo Allende.
And owing to as much, Messi reached the 400-assist mark for his career, another frankly staggering achievement for a player widely considered to be the greatest of all-time.
When all was said and done in Inter Miami’s do-or-die playoff clash with Nashville, the former emerged on the right side of a dominant 4-0 scoreline.
Messi proved himself the undisputed star of the show en route to as much, adding a brace to his assist to keep alive a scintillating individual run of form.
Javier Mascherano’s Inter are now facing up to an MLS playoff conference semi-final tie against Cincinnati.
