Barcelona learn referee appointment for Club Brugge clash

La Liga giants Barcelona have early this week learned the refereeing appointment for their upcoming meeting with Club Brugge.

Englishman Anthony Taylor has been confirmed as the official set to take charge of the fixture.

Barcelona are of course primed to return to action on Wednesday night.

Fresh off securing a return to winning ways at the expense of Elche over the weekend, the Blaugrana will shift focus back towards matters on the continent.

A meeting with Belgian outfit Club Brugge lies in wait, in the Champions League.

And as alluded to above, two days out from the fixture, the identity of the referee set to oversee matters at Jan Breydel Stadium has been confirmed.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, Anthony Taylor has been appointed as the referee for the matchup.

The VAR booth, meanwhile, will be manned by another Englishman, in Stuart Attwell.

Barcelona, in previous fixtures overseen by Taylor, have managed a record of two wins, two draws, and one defeat.
