Barcelona vice-president Juli Guiu admits the club’s sponsorship deal with Spotify is “one of the best in the world” after it received the go-ahead on Sunday.
Barça’s extraordinary assembly voted 89 per cent in favour of the lucrative agreement with the Swedish music audio streaming company.
The sponsorship deal is set to earn Barça in excess of €400 million. The Camp Nou outfit has sold the naming rights for Camp Nou for the next 12 years.
The famous ground will be known as Spotify Camp Nou and Spotify will also appear on the front of both men’s and women’s team shirts from the 2022-23 season.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta said: “It’s a historical agreement because it’s the best ever sponsorship agreement for Barça and it’s a strategic alliance between Barça and Spotify. We are going to project our club to the world as a global brand.”
