Sergio Ramos returns to PSG team, future up in the air

Sergio Ramos was named in Mauricio Pochettino’s PSG squad for the Ligue 1 game against Lorient on Sunday night after recovering from a calf problem that has kept him out for most of the season.

The former Real Madrid captain, who started on the bench on Sunday, has only managed to play a total of 283 minutes in five appearances in all competitions since joining the Ligue 1 outfit.

Pochettino sent the veteran defender on in the 72nd minute of the match in place of Marquinhos, as PSG ran out 5-1 winners.

Ramos’ contract runs until June 2023 but his future remains up in the air. AS reports that PSG sporting director Leonardo and club owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi have their doubts about retaining the defender for another season. French outlet Le Parisien has suggested that Ramos could be forced to retire due to his injury issues.
