The powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona have informed Vitor Roque and his entourage of their immediate plans for the attacker.
And the news will no doubt be met with widespread approval on the part of the Barcelona faithful.
This comes amid confirmation that, despite claims to the contrary across the media throughout the summer to date, a permanent sale for Roque is not being taken into account.
This past week, Deco and the board at the Camp Nou sat down for a meeting with Roque and his representatives.
And, as per a report from Diario Sport, during as much:
‘The sale of the forward was ruled out, because Barcelona maintains its confidence in the international player. Deco wanted to reassure the player’s entourage and send them a clear message.’
So, what is the immediate plan for Roque?
The most likely scenario as things stand is that the 19-year-old will be farmed out on loan, to a club from somewhere on the continent.
This comes amid strong competition for places in the Barcelona frontline, as well as the fact that the Blaugrana’s financial difficulties make it difficult for fringe players to be registered with La Liga.
