La Liga champions Barcelona have on Friday been described as being in an ‘open war’ with Spanish national team head coach Luis de la Fuente.
This comes owing to the latest developments in the Lamine Yamal saga.
Youngster Lamine has of course seen his name return to the forefront of the headlines across Spain on Friday.
As much comes, first, after the 18-year-old was called up to the Spanish national team squad for the October international break.
This call is understood to have gone down altogether poorly behind the scenes at Barcelona, with Lamine fresh off a spell on the sidelines with a pubis injury.
Mere hours later, the Blaugrana then announced that their attacking prodigy would in fact not be linking up with La Roja.
As per a statement across the club’s website and social media platforms:
‘The discomfort in the pubic area that player Lamine Yamal has been experiencing has reappeared after the match against PSG. He will be out for the Sevilla game, and the estimated recovery time is 2-3 weeks.’
And these developments have since been taken to mean one thing in the Spanish media.
As per a report from Barcelona insider Javier Miguel:
‘Open war (between) Barça and De la Fuente x Lamine!!!! They call him up and four hours later a statement and he’s out for two weeks.’
