The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona have opened talks over the contact renewal of an up-and-coming member of the club’s midfield ranks.
The player in question? Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernández.
Youngster Dro of course made waves across the Barcelona fanbase earlier this summer.
As much came after the 17-year-old, a relative unknown at the time, was afforded the chance to impress in Hansi Flick’s senior squad for pre-season.
And this is an opportunity which Dro went on to take full advantage of, lighting up several friendly fixtures courtesy of flawless touch, quick feet, and an eye for goal.
Such talents have given rise to suggestions that the Spaniard could be the next in line to emerge as a first-team star in Barcelona.
And as alluded to above, this week, the Camp Nou board have moved to make clear their belief in Dro’s future prospects.
As revealed by Jijantes:
‘Barca are already working on the renewal of ‘Dro’. His representative met with Deco yesterday to start negotiating the new contract.’
