The powers that be at Barcelona maintain an option to bring one of the star players across the La Liga season to date back to the club down the line.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Óscar Mingueza as the player in question.
Defender Mingueza, for those not aware, is in the midst of nothing short of a remarkable opening to the new campaign in Spain’s top-flight.
Afforded starts in each of Celta Vigo’s four outings to date, the 25-year-old, incredibly, has racked up five direct goal contributions.
As much is split into two goals and three assists, including a sumptuous free-kick against Villarreal late last month.
And likely to be keeping a close eye on such efforts, as alluded to above, will be those behind the scenes at Mingueza’s former club, Barcelona.
The versatile stopper spent the formative years of his career developing on the books in Catalunya’s capital, before being sold to Celta back in the summer of 2022.
As part of this deal, however, the Camp Nou brass secured for themselves a buyback option.
And, as per the aforementioned MD, as much is set at an altogether tempting sum of just €9 million…
