La Liga champions Barcelona have been afforded some timely positive news on the personnel front. This comes amid confirmation that Robert Lewandowski has linked back up with his teammates in group training.
Frontman Lewandowski has for his part been sidelined since the October international break.
This comes after the 37-year-old suffered a muscular injury whilst lining out for Poland in a World Cup qualifier against Lithuania.
Lewandowski, in turn, has been forced to sit out each of Barcelona’s last three fixtures across all competitions.
This includes Sunday’s El Clásico, an outing in which the veteran frontman’s talents were missed en route to a 2-1 defeat.
Hansi Flick and his staff will therefore no doubt be delighted with Lewandowski’s return to the grass at the Ciutat Esportiva.
As per a report from Carlos Monfort of Diario Sport, the former Bayern Munich man has been given the medical green light to rejoin group activities.
The aim, in turn, is for Lewandowski to be available for selection to face Elche this weekend.
