Barcelona handed timely injury boost

La Liga champions Barcelona have late this week been afforded some timely positive news on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that Raphinha has returned to the grass at the Ciutat Esportiva.

Wide-man Raphinha was for his part forced to watch on from the sidelines for the latest occasion on Thursday night.

And his absence, owing to a muscular complaint, proved to be a significant one, as Barcelona were put to the sword by four goals to nil in a Copa del Rey showdown with Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid.

All associated with Barcelona will in turn no doubt be delighted to learn of the latest word stemming from the club’s training base.

As per a report from Blaugrana insider Javier Miguel of Diario AS:

‘Raphinha took to the pitch this Friday to train with the substitutes for a period: a first step towards training with the full squad on Saturday.’

The expectation is that the former Leeds United man will therefore be cleared to play his part against Girona next Monday.
