Barcelona handed positive news before Newcastle clash

La Liga champions Barcelona have been afforded some altogether welcome news on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that Marc Bernal is not facing up to any kind of incoming spell on the sidelines.

Youngster Bernal for his part sparked concern across Barcelona’s fanbase on Saturday night.

As much came upon the 18-year-old being hooked prematurely from the Blaugrana’s La Liga meeting with Athletic Club.

En route to a 1-0 victory, Bernal was hauled off at half-time.

Not long back from a long-term spell on the treatment table with an ACL injury, and with Frenkie de Jong unavailable at present, this came as an alarming development for all associated with Barca.

As alluded to above, however, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then fans of the Catalans need not fret.

As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano, citing Diario AS:

‘No serious injury for Marc Bernal as Barcelona midfielder only suffered stomach problems.’

The Spanish starlet is therefore expected to be ready to play his part against Newcastle United in the Champions League this coming week.
