Barcelona handed Dani Olmo boost for Rayo Vallecano clash

The Barcelona coaching staff will be able to depend upon new signing Dani Olmo in the club’s next fixture.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Monday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

The name of midfielder Olmo has of course dominated the headlines at Barcelona for the last couple of weeks.

This comes with the Spanish international having played no part in either of the Blaugrana’s first two La Liga outings, owing to the club’s ongoing financial woes.

Olmo’s participation on Tuesday night, when Barca are primed to lock horns with Rayo Vallecano, had in turn also been considered until now as up in the air.

But, late on Monday, an altogether positive update on the situation has come to the fore.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, this comes with an agreement now in place between the Camp Nou brass and La Liga, to utilise Andreas Christensen’s latest injury to register Olmo for action:

‘In the next few hours La Liga will authorize the Barça club to register Dani Olmo due to the long-term absence of Andreas Christensen, as it recently did with Iñigo Martínez taking advantage of the absence of Ronald Araujo.’

Olmo, as a result, will be permitted to take to the pitch at Vallecas tomorrow night.
