The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona had been keeping tabs on the development of a member of the club’s summer recruitment list since all the way back in 2019.
The player in question? Roony Bardghji.
Youngster Bardghji of course sealed his long-awaited move to Catalunya’s capital last month.
Following months of negotiations between the Barcelona brass and their counterparts at FC Copenhagen, Deco and co. struck a cut-price deal to bring the 19-year-old in with immediate effect.
And as alluded to above, as much was the culmination of not only months, but years of work.
Speaking to the media this weekend, as cited by Diario Sport, Bardghji’s agent revealed that Barca were one of several clubs to have been tracking his client since his arrival at Malmö all the way back in 2019.
“When Roony arrived in Malmö at just 13 years old, he was on the radar of the best clubs and agencies throughout Europe,” Christian Emile admitted.
