The home fans in attendance at Barcelona’s meeting with Osasuna on Saturday made use of the opportunity to have some fun at the expense of arch rivals Real Madrid.
This came by way of a round of chants aimed in the direction of Xabi Alonso.
During the 2nd-half of proceedings in Catalunya’s capital, a collective chant was heard booming around the Camp Nou stands.
The chant in question came in the form of:
‘Xabi, quédate! Xabi, quédate!’ (Xabi, stay! Xabi, stay!)
This of course comes as a lighthearted jibe, in pleading for Real Madrid to continue with their current manager, despite the club’s ongoing struggles for form under Alonso’s watch.
Turning focus towards matters on the pitch on Saturday, Barcelona are well on their way to opening up a seven-point advantage atop the La Liga table.
Hansi Flick’s troops currently lead Osasuna by two goals to nil, owing to a Raphinha brace.
