Sections of the Barcelona fanbase have on Saturday evening made clear their feelings with Athletic Club star Nico Williams.
This, of course, comes amid the ongoing matchup between the sides in Catalunya’s capital.
Hansi Flick’s Barca are currently locked in action in Athletic, hopeful of making it two wins from two to start the La Liga campaign.
Hopeful of putting a dent in such endeavours, however, will be the aforementioned Nico Williams.
Wide-man Nico, a summer-long transfer target on the part of Barcelona, was for his part handed a starting berth by boss Ernesto Valverde on Saturday.
The 22-year-old has taken to the pitch on the left of the visitors’ frontline, tasked with getting the better of Jules Koundé.
Williams’ task in doing so, though, as alluded to above, has been added to by way of a hostile atmosphere inside Montjuïc.
As noted by several sources in attendance at the matchup, the Spanish international has been targeted in ruthless fashion by whistles and jeers from sections of the home crowd.
It now remains to be seen whether it is Nico’s Athletic, or the Blaugrana who have the last laugh…
