Barcelona’s supporters have on Sunday evening singled a member of the club’s backline out for widespread criticism.
The player in question? Pau Cubarsí.
Stopper Cubarsí was for his part in from the off once more this evening, as Barcelona locked horns with arch rivals Real Madrid.
This comes as Spanish football’s two biggest clubs do battle for the title of Super Cup champions.
As things stand in a tense affair in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the two sides find themselves deadlocked at two goals apiece.
All four goals came during the first-half, after Real Madrid twice dragged themselves on level terms after falling behind.
And it was in the aftermath of Los Blancos’ first equaliser that the aforementioned Cubarsí was singled out for ruthless condemnation online.
The Spanish international was far too easily beaten by Vinícius Jr. en route to the Brazilian netting a wonderful solo goal.
This was far from the first occasion this season on which this proved the case, as sections of the Barcelona fanbase continue to turn on their side’s young defender.
Such supporters therefore took full advantage of the opportunity to take fresh aim at Cubarsí on Sunday:
