The refereeing appointment for Barcelona’s upcoming meeting with Girona has on Friday been made official.
This comes amid confirmation that Gil Manzano will be tasked with overseeing the Catalan Derby.
Barcelona are of course primed to kick their campaign back into gear this weekend.
With sights on a return to winning ways following back-to-back defeats heading into the international break, the Blaugrana will play host to the aforementioned Girona on Saturday.
Emerge on the right side of the result, and Hansi Flick’s troops, at least temporarily, will leapfrog arch rivals Real Madrid back to the top of the table.
And in efforts towards as much, as alluded to above, Barca’s players are now aware of the official who will be in charge of the fixture.
As confirmed on Friday afternoon, Jesús Gil Manzano has been appointed as the referee for the derby.
News of as much has since not gone down at all well with those of a Blaugrana persuasion, of the opinion that Gil Manzano has been responsible for a number of controversial decisions against their side in the recent past.
