La Liga champions Barcelona find themselves falling off the pace in the race for a headline member of the club’s summer transfer wishlist.
The player in question? Luis Díaz.
Wide-man Díaz has of course seen his name dominate the headlines in Catalunya’s capital for some time now.
As much comes after those behind the scenes at Barcelona were forced to shift focus towards a deal for the Colombian, following their failed pursuit of priority target Nico Williams.
To date, however, the Blaugrana have been unable to meet the demands laid out by Liverpool.
And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media this weekend is anything to go by, then as much appears to have culminated in the Catalans falling behind in the Díaz sweepstakes.
As per a report from transfer insider Florian Plettenberg of Sky, it is Bayern Munich who now boast the best position when it comes to the incorporation of the 28-year-old winger:
‘Luis Díaz has not only informed Liverpool of his desire to leave, but has now also made it clear to Liverpool that he would like to join FC Bayern if possible.’
