La Liga giants Barcelona have this week been tipped to launch an incoming move for Crystal Palace star Marc Guéhi.
This comes amid the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the situation of Ronald Araújo in Catalunya’s capital.
Stopper Araújo is of course unavailable for selection at present, whilst dealing with mental problems brought on by the backlash from his costly red card in Barcelona’s defeat at the hands of Chelsea last month.
Should the Uruguayan not manage to get things back on track in the near future, Hansi Flick’s squad will be left alarmingly short on options at centre-back.
And with as much in mind, Deco and co. are already eyeing up potential solutions.
As per a report from transfer journalist Ekrem Konur:
‘Barcelona could reach a pre-agreement with Marc Guehi on January 1. If Araújo is unavailable, Barça may push for an immediate move.’
England international Guéhi is for his part primed to depart Crystal Palace as a free agent upon the expiration of his contract terms next summer.
The competition for his signature, though, is set to be fierce.
