The brass at La Liga champions Barcelona have identified a pair of young attackers as transfer targets for the future.
That’s according to Fichajes, who have this week provided an insight into the situation.
Barcelona are of course expected to bring in reinforcements in the centre-forward spot in the not-so-distant future.
As much comes with current first-choice hitman Robert Lewandowski set to turn 38 years of age next year.
The widespread assumption, in turn, was that Deco and co. would seek out a big-name replacement for the Pole on the market.
With Ferran Torres continuing to impress, however, a different plan could instead be put in place…
As per a report from Fichajes, Barcelona are eyeing up moves for a pair of young strikers viewed as having tremendous upside.
The players in question? Karim Konaté and Paris Brunner.
Konaté is a 21-year-old goalscorer who is currently plying his trade with RB Salzburg. The Blaugrana are said to be ‘closely monitoring his progress’.
Fellow attacker Brunner, meanwhile, is just 19 years of age, and is currently making a name for himself in France with AS Monaco. Deco and his team of directors ‘have him highly regarded as an interesting alternative’.
